Academic advising is an integral part of a student's success here at Edison College. Following Orientation and Placement Testing, each degree seeking student meets with an Academic Advising Specialist or SOAR Program Specialist who will assist the student in the following:

• Designing an educational plan to accomplish the objective desired by the student;
• Understanding the General Education Program of the College;
• Selecting courses for long-range educational goals;
• Resolving difficulties encountered by the student in understanding educational programs and transfer requirements;
• Monitoring the student's progress toward educational goals.
