Alisa Callahan teaches finance related courses for Edison Online. She earned her Master of Science in Finance from Boston College in Boston, MA and her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Prior to joining the faculty at Edison State College, Professor Callahan had an extensive career in commercial banking, specifically in workout lending, at a major banking institution where she managed a complex national loan portfolio of substandard borrowers. She also has considerable experience in private equity/venture capital where she focused on the Media, Communications, and Healthcare sectors. There she evaluated business plans and applied detailed financial modeling for financial analysis, business valuation, pro forma forecasting, and return projections as well as other due diligence for prospective investments. Professor Callahan enjoys following the stock market and trading âfor funâ and playing tennis in her free time. She is most proud of her husband who is the #1 ranked disabled sailor in the country and competes internationally at the highest level. Most recently, he competed at the Paralympics in London 2012. She lives locally with her husband and twin boys and spends her summers in Newport, RI where her husband runs Sail to Prevail, the national disabled sailing organization helping disabled children overcome adversity.
